How to Install and Configure Memcached on Ubuntu 24.04

 

 

If you are running a VPS server with Ubuntu 24.04, you can follow this guide to install and configure Memcached for caching data.

Step 1: Update Your Package Index

First, make sure your package index is up to date. Open your terminal and run:

sudo apt update

Step 2: Install Memcached

Install Memcached using the following command:

sudo apt install memcached libmemcached-dev

Step 3: Configure Memcached

Once installed, you can configure Memcached. Open the configuration file:

sudo nano /etc/memcached.conf

Here, you can adjust settings such as the amount of memory allocated, the port number, and the IP address. For example:
